Kitchen Fixer Upper

We all know I love a light, bright (and white) kitchen. It's no secret. The sight of dark oak cabinets can send me reeling, which is why I promptly had mine painted. You don't have to gut your kitchen to achieve an airy look. You can take out some upper cabinets and insert open shelves, lighten up your backsplash and paint your existing cabinets. Go ahead and add some new countertops if your budget allows. That's exactly what I did, and you can check out the before and after here. But, here is another phenomenal redo featured in House Beautiful. Kitchen designer was T. Keller Donovan and photographs by Michael Price.

Donovan picked Corian countertops "because it's instantly calming – the material is cool to the touch." Right on! I LOVE my Corian counters as well. Indestructible and so many new colors and designs to choose from. I'm not sure if I can go back to marble.
